No Stigma Attached Lunch and Learn: Alcoholism/Addiction

Lunch and Learn topic on alcoholism and addiction  

WHEELING, W.VA – West Virginia Northern Community College’s (WVNCC) Academic Support Center will host a No Stigma Attached Lunch and Learn on Thursday, Jan. 18, from noon – 1 p.m. on their Wheeling Campus. Oksana Thomas, a therapist from Park Valley Behavioral Health, will be discussing Alcoholism and Addiction. The event, which includes lunch, is free and open to the public and will take place in WVNCC’s B&O Auditorium.

Thomas immigrated from the Ukraine at the age of 17 and pursued her degree in Counseling from Marshall University. She currently holds and LPC and ADC credentials and has been working in addiction since 2009. She has worked at Northwood Health Systems, Crittenton Residential, the Methadone Clinic, The Day Report Center and is currently working with opioid dependency via therapy and medication. Thomas will be discussing drug and alcohol dependency with suggestions for assistance.
