About the Friends
The Friends of the College are campus-based organizations comprised of interested individuals representing business, industry, labor, education, government, social service agencies, civic clubs and the campus who provide assistance (by sharing thoughts and ideas, serving on committee, or attending the annual fall meeting ) to the College through the Campus Dean.
Members of the Friends advise the Campus Dean to achieve the goals of:
fostering interaction between the campus and the communities it serves in a manner beneficial to the College;
promoting the interests of the College in the regional service area, and,
providing a regional forum for the exchange of information and discussion of College issues.
The Friends hold an annual meeting each fall. The Friends are governed by a 12-member Board which meets on a regular basis. Several committees have been established to assist the Board in the achievement of the organization's goals and to plan yearly activities.
Membership in the Friends of the College is open to the public. Membership dues are $10 per year. This investment helps defray operating costs of the organization.
Ideas for projects to make the group more effective are welcome. If you have any ideas you would like to share or would like additional information about the Friends, contact any member of the Board by calling the Wheeling Campus Dean at 304-233-5900 ext. 8926
