Job Fair at WVNCC Weirton

A Fall Job Fair will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Weirton campus of West Virginia Northern Community College in partnership with the American Job Center, Workforce West Virginia.

Tami Becker, counselor/career services, and Lisa Soly, counselor/transfer coordinator, both at Northern, and Christy Yeager, one-stop operator at Workforce West Virginia, explained the Weirton Job Fair is designed to connect employers with candidates seeking seasonal, full- or part-time work and internship opportunities. Location of the fair is the campus at 150 Park Ave. on Weirton Heights.

Becker and Soly said the free event is open to the public as well as students and alumni from WVNCC. The counselors advise job seekers to dress professionally and have plenty of resumes available to distribute to the participating employers.

To this point, employers pre-registered to attend the event are National Council on Aging, Adecco, Change, Inc., Council of Three Rivers American Indian Council, Weirton Medical Center, Northwood Health Systems, Rue 21, Reimbursement Concepts, Hancock Sheltered Workshops and IC Care. Yeager said many others are expected to register before the deadline.
