Workforce Development LogoThe Center for Economic and Workforce Development at West Virginia Northern Community College contributes to economic development for the area by enhancing the regional workforce through training, continuing education and consulting for individuals and employers

Using a team approach within the Center and a reliance on partnerships with external groups, the Economic and Workforce Development Center responds to the needs of individuals, employers, communities, and economic development agencies with a flexible learning methodology which allows for customized solutions.

The Center addresses workforce development needs of the emerging, existing, entrepreneurial and transitional workforces through specific programs in Continuing Education, technical education partnerships, the Small Business Development Center and customized training. In addition, the Center is responsible for the College's flexible degree programs.
 

Major partnerships include those with RESA VI, the Northern Panhandle Technical Education and Training partnership with six county school systems, and the Public Service Internship program.
