West Virginia Northern Community College & Western Governors University sign transfer agreement for seamless transfer to four different programs

West Virginia Northern Community College (WVNCC) and Western Governors University (WGU) signed a transfer agreement for Business, Healthcare, Education, and Information Technology programs today. Upon obtaining an associate degree in any of these areas from WVNCC, students can now seamlessly transfer to WGU to pursue their bachelor’s degree.

This new agreement provides a pathway for WVNCC students seeking a bachelor’s degree and further their education. The agreement provides students with an easy transition with the sharing of applications and admission information, transcripts, and other records.

The agreement also covers numerous programs including Accounting, Business Administration, Nursing, Elementary Education, Cybersecurity, and more. Northern students who complete their associate degree in these programs will now be able to seamlessly transfer credits to WGU to pursue their bachelor’s degrees.

“We are proud of this new partnership with Western Governors University because it expands student success, by building an easy pathway to assist our students in pursing advanced degrees,” commented WVNCC President Dr. Daniel Mosser. “Not only is this agreement created for degree completion, but it also helps simplify the admissions and transfer processes for our students.”

“It’s a privilege for WGU to partner with West Virginia Northern Community College as we realize our shared mission to create accessible educational pathways for students of all ages and backgrounds,” said Alison Bell, Regional Vice President for WGU. “We look forward to supporting more students in West Virginia to reach their goals through higher education.
