Welcome to WVNCC
We are excited to have you as a new student! We understand that there is a lot to consider when making a choice about your future, but we are here to help you every step of the way. One of the main reasons our students love Northern is the friendly environment and staff. We love our students, and faculty and staff work tirelessly every day to make sure you are successful and getting the most out of your college experience.
For more information or any questions you may have, please contact Regan Blaha at firstname.lastname@example.org or 304-214-8838.
Location, location, location!
We have three locations - New Martinsville, Wheeling & Weirton - so you can stay close to home no matter where you live. Plus our robust online offers allow you to learn from the comfort of your home!
What should I study?
We have over 70 programs to choose from to get you started in the career you want in two years or less. Not sure yet what you want to do? That is perfectly fine! You can start at Northern and if you decide on a path that may require a four-year degree we will work with you to transfer.
Paying for college
One of your main concerns is probably how will you afford college? We feel this should not be a road block! Your college education maybe entirely FREE with a WV Invests Grant. You will graduate debit free with your Associate degree. See if you qualify! Did you know that on average you will spend 36% less to attend Northern compared to other four-year, public colleges? We are the most affordable community college in West Virginia and 83% of our students who apply for financial aid receive it. Make sure also to check out the scholarships available. On average over 226 of our students receive over $280,000 in scholarships annually.
Our average class size is 14 students to 1 instructor so you will get the personal attention you need as you transition into college.
Learn from the best
Our courses are taught by faculty who have the same educational background as instructors who teach at four-year colleges and universities. Plus, many of our faculty have spent years in their field and are excited to pass along their real world experience to you!
We have spaces on each campus to study or hang out and meet new friends. Plus you can get involved in Student Government Association, Campus Activities Board, numerous clubs, intramural sports and more! Make sure you attend one of the dozens of fun (and often yummy) events that are sponsored by our Student Activities!
We have many resources available to assist you in your journey. Make sure you take advantage of our Learning Resource Center, Academic Support Center, Career Services office and more.
