Substance Abuse Intervention Programs
West Virginia Northern now offers two new Substance Abuse Intervention Programs.
Students are eligible to receive up to $8,000 in tuition and fees assistance and a stipend per academic year.
The Substance Abuse Intervention Specialist is a two-year program in which students can earn an Associate Degree. This program is for anyone who wants to pursue a career as an Intervention/Prevention Specialist and will also give individuals who have been in recovery and maintained sobriety for a period of two years a chance to change their future job prospects and become peer recovery support specialists.
The Substance Abuse Intervention Technician is a one-year, advanced skill set program. Students will be trained to work as substance abuse intervention technicians and specialists, peer recovery support specialists, prevention specialists, or substance abuse counselors.
