West Virginia Northern Community College (WVNCC) is pleased to announce that its Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) program has recently earned accreditation from HVAC Excellence, a leading accreditation organization in the HVAC industry. This accreditation marks a significant milestone for WVNCC, as it becomes the first college or university in the state of West Virginia to receive this prestigious recognition.

HVAC Excellence, established in 1994, is a standards organization dedicated to improving the quality of education in the HVAC industry. HVAC accreditation is an independent, non-governmental, third-party review of educational programs. WVNCC's HVACR program underwent a comprehensive evaluation process, which included a thorough examination of the program's mission, administrative responsibilities, finances and funds, student services, instructional design, program elements, physical facilities, equipment and tools, cooperative training opportunities, and instructor qualifications.

"We are incredibly proud to receive accreditation from HVAC Excellence,” commented WVNCC President Dr. Daniel Mosser. “This recognition reaffirms our commitment to providing outstanding education and training in the HVACR field. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, as well as the exceptional quality of our HVACR program."

WVNCC HVACR Program Director John Labriola added, "Being the first college or university in West Virginia to achieve accreditation from HVAC Excellence is a significant accomplishment. This recognition validates the high standards and excellence we maintain in our HVACR program. We are dedicated to preparing our students for successful careers in the rapidly evolving HVACR industry."

WVNCC offers a two-year Associate Degree in Applied Science in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating Technology and a one-year certificate in Applied Science in Air Conditioning. This is a program designed to provide the technical knowledge and skills required of persons employed in the air conditioning industry. Students completing the program will be able to find employment in the areas of residential and commercial air conditioning, installation, maintenance and service.
