In addition to the general circulating book collection, the Library/Learning Resource Center has several special collections including reference, career corner, college catalogs, study skills, professional development, and A-V.

Reference

The Reference collection is shelved in a separate area of the library and can only be used in the library. The reference section is a good place to find a basic fact or to begin a research project.  The Library also has an online database called Credo Reference in which more than 600 reference books can be accessed online.

Career Corner

The Career Corner is a collection of books  intended for career guidance for students. Information about a specific career such as educational requirements can be found here as well as sources about cover letters, resumes, and interviews..

Professional Development

A resource area for faculty and staff to use as professional development is located in the Learning Resource Center. Topics of materials include technology, higher education trends, assessment, teaching skills, etc. Print (books, reports, magazines) and online sources are available.

Audio-Visual Material

The Library/Learning Resource Center has a variety of A-V material in different formats including video tapes, DVDs, and computer software. A-V equipment is also located in the A-V section and includes overhead projectors, televisions, DVD players and VCRs. Students must use these materials in the library. Faculty should contact the library to make arrangements for services they need in the classroom.

Vertical File

The vertical file is a collection of miscellaneous pamphlets and articles from newspapers and magazines organized by subject in alphabetical order. These items may be checked out at the circulation desk.

Reserve Materials

Faculty often request that materials (books, articles, videos) be placed on reserve for special class assignments. Reserve material should be requested at the circulation desk. Instructors may indicate if the item can only be used in the library or if the item may be checked out overnight.
