Wheeling Campus – Barnes & Noble / Student Union 2nd Floor
Our community and campus is made up of a diverse group of people, not only in their character and opinions, but also in their gender, race, ethnicity, age, and abilities. This presentation focusing on diversity and inclusion aims to create welcoming and safe spaces for all, and to encourage open and respectful dialogue. Catharsis’ skilled trainers understand that issues such as racial bias and discrimination, stereotypes, or sexual harassment are difficult topics to understand and discuss. Therefore, they have created a research based approach that strives to create an open, honest, and constructive dialogue around these issues by using humor, interactive talk, and exercises to create an impactful and meaningful learning environment for all participants. The program will allow individuals to see their own biases and privileges; explain micro-aggressions, why people commit them, and how we can prevent them; identify what bias statements are and how to respond to such statements; and more.
