Admission Requirements

Surgical Technology Program Admission Requirements Admission to the Surgical Technology, AAS program requires:

  1. Completion of an Allied Health Application and $25 application fee. (Fee is to be paid once application is completed)
  2. Resume submitted to Application Hub. Application Hub (located in Brightspace) access will be granted after you apply and receive your access email.
  3. An overall GPA of 2.50 is preferred. If space is available, a GPA of 2.49 – 2.0 may be considered.

Surgical Technology is a limited enrollment program. Candidates must submit an Allied Health Application (in addition to completing a regular degree seeking application) and pay an application fee. All appropriate records from high school, previous colleges must be received in the Admissions Office before the application is reviewed. All high school and college transcripts must be on file at least 10 business days prior to the published deadline. Early application is highly recommended. See form for application dates.

Applicants should check their WVNCC email account regularly for updates from the Admissions Office. Students granted admission must submit a $200 deposit to confirm their spot in the program and successfully complete a background check, drug screening, and physical examination by their physician.

A minimum grade of a "C' is required in all courses to remain in the program and graduate.
