Admission Requirements

Admission to the Health Information Technology, AAS program requires:

1. Completion of an Allied Health 1+1 Application, payment of $25 application fee, and submission of a resume to the Admissions Office;
2. cumulative GPA of 2.50; preferred, GPA of 2.0 considered.
3. uccessful completion of the Medical Billing and Coding, CAS program. Students who have not yet graduated from this CAS program must be set to complete all remaining graduation requirements by the end of the summer 2024 semester.

All high school and college transcripts must be on file at least 5 business days prior to the published deadline. High school transcripts may not have been required for admission to the Medical Billing and Coding program, so HIT applicants should double-check that these have been submitted.

Applicants should check their WVNCC email account regularly for updates from the Admissions Office.

Students granted admission must submit a $200 deposit to confirm their spot in the program and successfully complete a background check, drug screening, and physical examination by their physician.

Students who apply by April 30th, 2024 will receive priority consideration. The final deadline is August 1, 2024 at noon.
